Yahoo Calendar - CalDAV

Found this on another forum... posted by "bwise05". Works good, but not all of my Yahoo Calendar events are showing up on my iPhone Calendar. Any idea why?

If you are running iPhone 3.0 software (released Summer of 2009) or newer, syncing calendar to your iPhone can be done without plugging into your computer.
Make sure you are using the Calendar Beta. If you go to calendar.yahoo.com do you see the words “Yahoo! Calendar Beta” in the top left corner? If you are not using the beta you can switch to it by visiting switch.calendar.yahoo.com
Go to your iPhone settings application.
Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars".
Tap "Add Account".
Tap "Other" and then tap "Add CalDAV Account".
For the "Server" you can simply type "yahoo"
Now type in the Yahoo! username and password you use to signin to your calendar
Once you click save, the iPhone will verify your username and password.
Next time you open up your iPhone Calendar you will see a page allowing you to select with Yahoo! Calendar layer you want to view/edit.
It may take a few minutes for your Yahoo Calendar info to load... be patient.

No, your Yahoo Calendar needs to be in Beta mode.

I logged in to my yahoo calendar (classic) on my pc then copy and pasted this url (switch.calendar.yahoo.com) into the browser and switched to beta mode. Then I followed the instructions I posted earlier with my iphone.

It works... just missing about 30% of the events that are in the pc version of my Yahoo calendar.

I can verify that yahoo calendar can be synced to iPhone’s calendar on an iPhone 3G running 3.0 software if you set up your yahoo calendar account over WIFI. Before I figured out I need to use WIFI I was trying to sync using 3G or Edge (whatever wireless that was active) and was getting really frustrated because I had 2 other yahoo email accounts working but couldn’t even get one yahoo calendar to sync.

iPhone’s calendar also seems to be unable to sync to yahoo calendar over 3G or Edge and only works over WIFI which is pretty lame in my opinion. I guess better than nothing… maybe they will fix this in the future?

First make sure you are using Yahoo! Calendar BETA. It’s painless to switch over and won’t change any of your calendar notes.

It may help to start all over and delete any previous attempts if you are having trouble syncing your calendar. Before putting in any account info go into “Settings”, then “WIFI” and turn on WIFI, while making sure you have working WIFI to connect to. Then go into “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”. Choose “Add Account…”, then “Other”, then “Add CalDAV Account”. For “Server” just put in “yahoo”. It will change to the proper address. Then put in the User Name and Password that you use to login to your yahoo calendar. Save and it should verify without you needing to do anything else. Exit “Settings”. Once you go into your “Calendar” all your yahoo calendar events should show up. Hope this helps.

A couple of notes from Yahoo. Glad so many of you are enjoying the push calendar functionality with your iphone.

- We've confirmed that there is an issue for some users in some network regions that prevents CalDAV sync setup on the iPhone on 3G or Edge. This does not seem to be Yahoo specific but for now the solution is to use wifi to get your events onto your calendar.

- A few users have reported that they were syncing fine when all of a sudden the events are not showing up on their iphone any longer. This is a known issue and a fix is going out in a few days to address this, don't worry, your events are safe.
