Can I burn an iDVD project to an external dvd writer?

Since I only have a combo drive, I was told that I should save my project as a disk image and then burn it on a computer with superdrive.

Why can't I just burn the project on an external dvd writer? Any suggestions on how I can do this or is it not even possible?

The profile did come with the CDs, however it has been updated since I bought my LaCie. And this does relate to the original post of how to burn DVDs in iDVD with an external burner, does it not?

What are you trying to install? The only thing you need to install is Toast, which is on the Mac CD that came with your burner. What is the error you are getting? How far are you getting in the installation before the error occurs? Try going to the link I posted and download the same OSX support file. Then try installing from your new drive.

Silly rabbit,
Toast is installed now but it gives the message "no recorder found" I still think I need a driver for The DVD±RW and thats what I can't get installed.
