iPhone 3GS mute / silent button jiggles around

I just got back from the apple store to find the mute/silent button is jiggle around all over the place. I am wondering if anyone else is seeing this with theirs? It only happens with the toggle switch is switched to the silent mode. Anyone?

Well I am back from the Apple store. The apple employee acted like I was an idiot. He didnt think that was a problem at all. They had 8 demo units out on display. Only ONE of the EIGHT did not jiggle around. However, some jumped around more than others. I am really surprised that something like this would get past the quality assurance department.

I also just returned from an Apple store, myself.

I had a reservation with a Genius for this afternoon and arrived early to inspect the store's display models. There were eight 3G S units on display. The silent switch on the majority of them felt similar to mine -- some slightly better, some definitely worse -- with only two being firm.

Discovering that, I considered canceling my appointment.

Next, I compared the displays of each of the eight display units (full brightness with auto-brightness off). All but two had a warm, yellow-ish tint, similar to my 3G. Ew.

Being extremely happy with the crisp, cool screen (like my 2G) of my current 3G S, and not liking the odds of getting a bum replacement, I decided to cancel and live with a silent switch with a little wiggle.

I guess I can rest easy knowing that a little give in the silent switch is likely an unfortunate by-product of mass production and lax QC.

Now all I need to do is find something else to obsess about...

I just found this out as I was about to use my iPhone. I was also thinking that it was just part of how the phone was made. I am wondering if Apple has hard about this. This seems to not be to good as I am not the only one to have this issue. On my phone I only find the silence button to jiggles when in silence. Is it worth going to the apple store about this tomorrow? What is everyone doing to make sure that there silence button dose not get worse?

I have the same issue. I thought I'd do a search expecting not to find anything out. I'm surprised that there are others having this same issue. I feel less weird for noticing that. My switch doesn't seem loose enough to warrant a return, but it is a little annoying that it makes that jiggle sound when the phone vibrates or is tapped. Does anyone also feel that the motor that vibrates the phone is a little stronger, too?

I went to my genius bar with 3 complaints about the iphone 3Gs.
First: the mute button was loose. I was told it was a new feature. hahahahaha
Second: If you run you finger down the left hand side the plastic was not flush with the metal. That was accepted.
Third the metal bezel stood proud of screen and cuts into the ear when on a call. That was also accepted as a fault.

So they ordered me a new phone. Now, when I tested all the phones on display about 90% of them had all 3 faults... What's up apple.. Bad production run and the QA gents over in Asia were all out for a national holiday????
I have an original 3G iphone so all 3 faults stood out really quickly. For me the sunken display is a killer and requires a general recall.
