iPhone 3G S has yellowish tint

I just got my iPhone 3G S today and noticed that it has a distinctly yellowish tint to the screen. Doesn't matter what app I am using, and I've tried adjusting the brightness with no success.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

For all you people who have a legitimate problem with your screen (about 5% of the 60+ pages of this thread), simply get your phone replaced. Apple has great customer service and will be more than happy to take care of you.

For the other 95% of you complaining, nit picking, chronic perfectionists who have returned god knows how many phones by now, simply find another type of phone to use. Or should I say... complain about...:), and I feel sorry for Apple because they have to deal with people like you.

This is not about the 3GS. That is from June 2008. And after that Apple did a software update to fix the yellow screen on the 3g. The screen are not supposed to be yellow or the display models would be yellow. Your supposed to get what they have on display right? If you bought a TV and the display looked good and you got it home you wouldnt be upset if it had a yellow tint that you couldnt fix. You would be like ohh well it dosnt look good but its a great tv. Nooo.

And if you dont have an apple store near you there customer service is terrible. I have to wait 1 to 3 weeks for a new one if I mail it.

I love when people deffend apple because the issue never happened to them. There wouldnt be 60 pages if it was a made up issue.

Auggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! This thread keeps reappearing!!!!!!!!

RKahl wrote....."I love when people deffend apple because the issue never happened to them. There wouldnt be 60 pages if it was a made up issue."

RKahl......your spelling is horrendous. "Defend" has one "f". "Wouldn't" is spelled....well....you can see. Oh...and you should have used a capital "A" for Apple.

I'm going to comment on this topic yet one more time and I'm holding my head in both hands tightly in hopes of keeping it from exploding and making a nasty mess.

Granted, there is an issue with a teenie, eenie, weenie, tiny number of screens that are split toned or have a small area that is radically different in color temperature that the rest of the screen. The number is so disgustingly small that it is near insignificant. Measly. These consumers obviously deserve to have their iPhones replaced with an acceptable unit.

However, THIS THREAD is seriously inflated due merely to interested readers and not inflicted users. There is a small handful of owners here complaining about bad screens. The remaining few billion are only along for a laugh or attempting to decide if they too are a victim of the pee pee yellow screen which for the life of me I have yet to see.

There is NO urine colored screen. Urine is glowing lemon yellow....well....if you take a lot of vitamin B, but you know what I mean. NONE OF YOU have a lemon yellow screen. There is warm tone and I have one. I like it. It's better than anyone's "cool blue" screen. No real offense to anyone that has a cool tone and prefers it. But my blacks are blacker and my colors are more vivid.

Also, the media isn't even touching this topic. Try Googling the topic and you come up with a putrid, small handful of ancient articles involving the 3G and not the 3GS. That's because the media is made up of really smart people who know everything about everything and they know all about you guys. Yeah....you whiny little dullards.....always complaining....crying...."Oh! Boo hoo! My phone's screen is slightly shifted to yellow! I want to conform so other people will think I am just like them!!! I insist that you open eleven iPhone boxes and allow me to select the one that I deem is normal!!!! Get me the manager!!!" Yes I've dealt with your types before. When I used to work in the camera trade. People like you having the nerve to try to return a camera after you've used it for two years only because you say you've decided you don't like it and want to try something different and you don't even have the box or a receipt!! Oh yes, I know your type very well.

Please understand that there is a (very wide) varying degree of colour temperatures among 3GS itself. Not just about the screen being "yellow". And note it's comparison among 3GS ONLY. Not to the 3G, not to the 2G.

If you are having a screen that is warmer when compared to previous iPhone, but looks acceptable. Fine. BUT do note there are much much worse screens other users are having.

This is poor QC on Apple's part. And yes, all with problems have approached Apple I believe. Just sharing experiences here.

So forums should be closed as customers just need to approach the manufacturer directly?

Hello everybody,
It is a fact that there is a problem. Some of you are lucky in the US, and able to return their product to an apple store.
I live in Athens Greece, and return policy does not work for us, the local carriers don't or don't want to understand that there is a problem, and each service call takes about 2 weeks from my experience mentioning that there is no problem.
How come nobody started a no-yellow tint petition to apple yet? Our scale is very small and nobody pays a real attention.

Thank you.

Ha ha, Markie-Poo you complain about somebody spelling wrong and you dont even get the correct person. Now that’s funny. You made a big mistake because you were complaining about a small one. Ohh good times.

But really this is getting dumb. It went from people talking about an issue to people complaining about people talking about an issue. I know you love apple, but apple messed up and used low quality screens and that’s all there is to it.
I never had an iphone that had a bad battery. So should I go in to a post about people who had to return their iphone because there battery sucked and call them stupid. The battery on my iphone is fine so you made that up. If my battery is fine then all batteries are fine. Now doesnt that sound stupid. Sorry doesn’t. I dont need you marking your screen with a red sharpie. If you have a valid point then state it. Don’t try to say I am wrong because my spelling. And if thats all you have to do is sit around and grade people's post then maybe get out sometime. Enjoy life. Dont let a post make you angry. Go somewhere find a pretty lady or man or whatever your into. You shouldn’t get your blood pressure up over a post on a forum. Hey maybe you should stop reading it if it makes you that mad. Try that.

Why doesn't Apple simply include an option (even an Easter egg if they don't want to expose the option to the vast majority) to adjust the screen temperature.

There is no way Apple can satisfy everyone's preference, some like a bluer screen, some like a yellower screen.

Let the people decide it for themselves. I am sure this would reduce the number of returns which has to be a good thing for Apple, surely?

Yea I sent feedback to apple stating that same thing. On every lcd tv I have owned there is an option for cool normal or warm. I know the iphone isn’t a tv but it has the same technology LCD. It wont help the half and half ones but it will def help the yellow ones. When the 3g first came out it had a yellow screen but a firmware update corrected it. I think apple will maybe add the option we just need a bunch of people to let them know it’s an issue.
