Bluetooth Audio not working

I too have this issue. I get seriously tired of having to hook up the usb cable to my Pioneer DEH-P7000BT car stereo (which has built in bluetooth). When I read about the new bluetooth audio capabilities of 3.0, I was very excited. My iPhone 3G works fine with the bluetooth phonecalls but I get an error when trying to sync for the bluetooth music.

Since the iPhone doesn't support AVRCP profile, the play, pause and skip track functions on the Sony won't work.

All the play functions will have to be controlled from the iPhone. Volume is controlled by the Sony. Your iPhone screen will display the back-play/pause-forward controls without the volume slider. Below that is the name of the bluetooth device with the bluetooth symbol at the right.

Yes The promise by apple in 3.0 OS to have the option to listen to music using a A2DP bluetooth device does not show on the iPod application on the first generation iphone. this *****!!!! apple needs to fix it

I have the same Sony Xplod Car Stereo and mine has generally been working well with the iphone 3G with OS 3.0.

When the phone pairs for phone calls you get a phone symbol appear on the stereo and when the A2DP pairs your get a second music looking symbol slightly below. I actually noticed this before I had a chance to figure out how to use it and it was simply a matter of changing the input source to BT Audio as opposed to BT Phone or previously for me for audio I was using AUX Input (via cable).

I have had a little trouble with the pairing not being as seemless as it was previously and I have had to at times manually pair the iPhone via Settings>General>Bluetooth and then pressing on the XPLOD listing for the device to tell it to pair (which should happen automatically) but this has affected both the A2DP and Phone pairing at the same time...not separately.

The biggest problem I am having is that once it is paired and playing, the play back is fine and really good quality while the screen is active. But as soon as the screen shuts off to save power the playback becomes stuttery and inconsistent. When I reactivate the screen by pressing the button or touching the screen the audio resumes normal playback. Hopefully they will fix this soon, I have notices othr people in the forums mentioning this for other devices such as headphones but thinking the headphones were the problem.

I'll be interested to see if you have the same issue once you resolve the pairing problem.

It is a shame the Microphone on the unit for phone calls is not better I have struggled wih the quality a little.

I have the exact same car stereo and am experiencing problems, ive managed to get music to play but when the iPhone locks (screen goes black, etc) the music just begins jumping but when i unlock it its fine! :S

The information I have seen says that AD2P is only enabled on 3G and 3Gs iPhones.
Presumably the 2G phone does not have the necessary hardware.

However I don't think you're missing much. I have a 3G and upgraded it to the new OS.
The audio quality over AD2P is nowhere near as good as a properly installed line output from the dock connector. (Don’t use the headphone socket, as the impedance is wrong for a line level input)
Annoyingly I am now stuck with AD2P (until I can find a way to disable it) because I have an IOPlay and it automatically assumes that you want to hear your music via Bluetooth if AD2P is present and cuts off the line output via the head unit.
The new audio output selection at the bottom right of the screen makes no difference (it just cuts the sound off if you select dock). Presumably because the IOPlay can still detect a AD2P signal.

I'm trying to connect my 3GS to a Blaupunkt Hamburg MP68 head unit. Bluetooth hookup for phone calls is fine. The first time I tried streaming audio it was fine - a BT icon appears in the bottom right hand corner of the ipod screen and touching that gives the option to output via speakers or BT. Calls interupted the music very smoothly and audio playback resumed after the call. I was happy.

However, since that first time i've been unable to get music over BT at all - it is still ok for phone calls, and if I press play during a call then the music is sent to the Head Unit, but as soon as the call ends the music is played over the iPhone speakers and there is no BT option on the iPod screen.

I'm wondering if this was broken in the 3.01 update (and not fixed in 3.1). What's even more frustrating is that i have a cable for the head unit that provides power and takes line level audio from the dock connector. That works with both my 2g nano and my 120gb (<12mth old) iPod Classic (which makes me think it's 5v rather than 12v) but gives "iphone can't get power from this accessory" and no audio output with the 3gs.

Any suggestions? I'm a bit gutted that i can't use my iPhone in the car at all now. I can buy a simple line in cable to replace the current iPod cable but then cannot charge and play audio at the same time with either the phone or ipod.
