I found the Zagg Invisible Shield to be the Zagg Annoying Shield. I will not be putting one on my new iPhone 3G S.

1. It didn't last as advertised. Many of the edges came up and got linty and even with the spray could never get them down again.
2. The LCD protector (vs. the back piece) applied perfectly; however, it totally reduced the accuracy of typing. Also, the way it would get dirty made it worse. It was easy to clean, but still more annoying than just the glass.
3. I ripped it off the phone with delight after a couple months of usage.

I got my 3GS on Firday and install zagg invisible sheild on it. Applying the shield took half an hour as I was well prepared by watching many youtube videos. You need to minimize the use of the fluid (water) with it. It will stick to the hone pretty much instantly after using the squeegee. I havn't had any problem with the corners as many people complained. Again, if you use minimum amount of spray, it will stick fast, otherwise you should allow it to dry for 5-10minutes before pressing the corners to the phone.

Though I had some tiny bubbles left yesterday, its size is reduced today and the shield started looking better. As they said on their website, it should look fine within 5-6 days after installing it.

I had bought the ZAGG full body shield prior to receiving my 3Gs. I was a bit apprehensive about using it as it had an adhesive and a spray to affix it. I talked to Apple technical support about using it on the oleophonic coating. They told me not to use any shield that had an adhesive as it could damage the screen as well as leave a sticky residue. Static based shield are fine.

You should have asked him how it could damage the screen (the formula that could damge the screen) lol. If you go to AT&T store, they sell screen protector for iphone. Btw, zagg is sticky but not sticky adhesive as packing tape etc. I used zagg on my 3G before, and since I wanted to take it out, it was just pealed off and no damage to my phone or screen was done. However, using the spray (water/liquid) on electronics is a risky factor and it will not be recommended by any manufacturer.

The question here is that the new 3GS has a new coating on the screen. Just because you had luck on the 3G doesn't mean there couldn't be an issue on the 3GS.

I'm going to wait a little while before adding the bestskinsever protector.

The representative said it could cause issues with the touch screen and the only screen protector they recommend are the static based. I wouldn't want to apply anything that might in fact damage or make the screen not operate right and would probably void the warranty. The fact is ZAGG is an adhesive, albeit not like duct tape. The rep stressed not to use any type of adhesive protector. It may have worked fine on the 3G but the 3Gs has a special coating.

Forget the invisible shield, get the Bodyguardz...much better and clearer with the same protection!!

The representative say a lot of things and most of the time it is total nonsense. Zagg would not be selling these for the 3Gs if they were doing damage. Also the Invisible Shield doesn't NOT have an adhesive, it uses cling which is activated by the spray, but you can peel these things off after a year and the screen will be just like new and there is so residue whatsoever. Clearly some of you don't know anymore than this so called representative.

When you get a big scratch on your display, don't come whining in here about it.

The first thing I did when I got my new phone even before turning it on and activating was to apply the invisible shield. Yes it is tricky and takes a lot of patience. 3 days later all bubbles are gone and no corners are loose. It was killing me but I waited 24hrs like the website stated to turn on the phone and get going. I did have one of these on my first gen iphone and it didn't work out as well. Mostly my fault for not waiting to use after applying and not knowing or researching how to apply properly. IMO this thing is the best out there for scratch protection. I have had no issue with the touch screen as far as typing or pinch-zooming in/out for pictures. An apple rep stating that a screen protector (sticky or not) will damage/ruin the screen is just plain dumb and he obviously had no clue what he was talking about. None of them really do anyways thats why we use these forums for REAL hands on experience. Take it for what it's worth.

I was convinced to try the Invisible Shield by a pushy salesman (Apple fan easily led, who'da thunk it?) and it lasted three days. Bad show.

First, these things are a pain in the neck to apply. The screen cover takes the patience of Job, but the rear cover looks like it was designed to increase the sales of blood pressure medication. After half an hour of fiddling around I gave up on it and threw it out, leaving just the screen cover.

After three days the cover was still mottled, but I expect this would have improved over time as it says on the box. This I could live with, but the cover also ruined the texture of the screen - it's very difficult to smoothly scroll with a flick as your finger stutters up the screen. It feels cheap.

Worst of all, though, is the fact that after just three days the screen was deeply scratched in several places. I've used several screen protectors in the past and they've always lasted at last a few weeks before developing any signs of wear. At £13.99 I expected to be impressed, but based on this experience I'll go back to my cheap £5.99 for 2 screen films.

I've installed these things on multiple iPod Touch's, iPhones, Camera's and other phones including the Motorola Razr2 V9. It does indeed time patients and the one mistake that most people make is not preparing properly for the install. Clean hands, that are moist with the solution, spraying just the right amount of solution and then using the key points to line it up, which are all clearly spelled out in the instructions. I guess for some of us patient truly is a virtue.

Given the fact that it doesn't sound like you installed it properly, I'd say this is why your turned out the way it did. I've never had any of these scratch in fact they are guaranteed not to scratch for the life of the product or they will replace it or give you a refund. If you couldn't get it installed, all you had to do was put it back in the box and return it. They would have gladly given you a prompt refund. I've even had them send me news ones when I've had equipment fail and it had to be swapped out.

I can understand the complaints though because they are hard to put on if you don't have patients. I guess I've probably installed about 12 of these things now. They all look good and work great, I have zero complaints.

Why bother? Have had my 3g for a year now, have never used a case or protector for it, just throw it my pocket and wipe it anything clean it. Guess what? No scratches or marks. The screens are alot more resilient than people think.
