Im using a Iphone 3G to stream music to my bluetooth car stereo and i can hear some sort of static and crackling behind the music. If i pause the music and turn the sound right up you can really hear the static real bad.
I have tried to use a cable to play through my car stereo and the noise doesn't happen.
Is anyone else having this problem, and is there a solution?
It's a common problem, hopefully it's something Apple can fix SOON with a SW update. I've tested this problem both on 3G and 3GS using a pair of Motorola S9's...the treble is muddy and distorted. Same when I use A2DP with my Kenwood deck in the car, so I know it's consistent across several units.
My workaround has been to continue using my old Sony BT dongle until Apple fixes this...other phones like Nokia that use A2DP - the sound is crystal clear.
Definitely not just you. I posted about the same problem a few days ago with my wife's iPhone bluetoothing to her Kensington car kit. Sound quality is horrible. Hopefully Apple can fix it.
Yes i do hope they can fix it as for me 3.0 highlight was the bluetooth music to my car stereo. Its a nightmare as my jack plug was damaged when somebodys dog jumped into my van and bent the jack lead by getting caught on it the jack input is destroyed inside. 😟
I just hope we dont have to wait another few months for this to be fixed.
If there are more people out there with this problem, come forward and post. We need to let apple know about this annoying issue! My friend also paired his crappy Nokia to my stereo and the sound was crystal. Come on apple i know you can do better than a Nokia!
Yes i am having the same problem. just purchased the 16gb 3gs and instantly went to dock it with my Blackberry bluetooth remote stereo in my vehicle. It paired beatifully and the music started to stream instantly but there is this slight crackling that is continuously heard. Also there is no way of adjusting the volume when you are paired wirelessly using bluetooth with a music device. Every time i am paired the music just blasted and i think this could be causing it to be crackly and distorted. Please Fix the problem. other devices pair without any distortion, this just tells me that the settings might be messed up. Any solutions?
Yeah, I'm having the somewhat of the same issue with volume control...none!! Can't control the volume w/ phone...turn it to mute & still plays. Luckily, w/o any noticeable distortion now. Using SE HBHIS800...love'em but gotta have control, APPLE!!!
I have the same problem with my Blackberry Stereo Gateway Bluetooth in my vehicle. The iPhone now pairs fine, but the sounds quality is poor, with no volume control on the iPhone. It is almost like the developers set the volume too high and the sound is distorted. I hope they can fix this soon. This was the highlight feature of 3.0 for me in addition to push.
I have have two BT headsets (Sony- Ericsson HBH-DS205 & Jabra BT3030) and three iPhones 3G, and in my tests both BT headsets gave consistent good sound; though the Sony has a bit more of mid and high frequency accentuation and the Jabra has a more analog/natural mids and high ones. I did not hear any noise or static and the sound was comparable (at least to me) to what I can hear when I plug the same hearphones into the iPhones.
I agree i'm going to test another bluetooth stereo as i have so far only tested one head set. I will buy a total different stereo and test the sound. If it is clear it is apparent that it isnt a Iphone problem for me.
I will post back in a few days. Just got to outlay £200+ for a test lol
