Voicemail notification

The 3gs is my first iphone.

I frequently miss the voicemail notification when a new message first arrives (even pre iphone). I realize there is a visual indicator on the screen but constantly picking up the phone and unlocking it to check for a possible VM is unrealistic. Every other cell phone I've owned had an optional setting which I lovingly called "annoy me with VM notifications" - essentially they would make some type of audible notification every few minutes until I acknowledged it. I need to know how i can get the iphone to do the same thing.

Thank You
Paul

This is my pet peeve with the iPhone (I have others 😉. Apple will never break into the enterprise market if it doesn't handle the basics. Corporate customers don't care that the Apple Store has thousands of game apps. They want to be able to conduct business and that's really hard to do if you keep missing calls from your clients/customers/vendors. If you have the nerve you can use Notifier, an app from Cydia's app store for jailbroken iPhones. You will void the warranty if you use it. I've seen it in use but have yet to work up the moxy to jailbreak mine 😉

If anyone can suggest a way to get repeat notifications w/o jailbreaking I would love to hear about it.

Well I don't work in dilbert-land, but I do use my iphone for business without missing any calls or messages. Voicemail notification has nothing to do with enterprise applications.

If you have a suggestion for additional features, provide it to apple. If you want to jailbreak, have a ball.

I beg to differ. You've obviously had your iPhone surgically implanted so you don't miss calls. The rest of us (if I may speak for those of us in "Dilbert-land") are busy, and aren't always near our iPhone when it rings or when a VM has been left. We also aren't obsessed with checking it every minute to see if someone left a VM. As such, it is common to work through a busy day and miss calls and VM's, only to notice them hours after they happened.

I agree that it is imperative that there should be repeating alerts for VM's and missed calls.

It is a feature that many have requested in the past, yet, as of 3.1 OS, still no repeating alarms.

Your holier-than-thou attitude wasn't much of a contribution to this thread, either, but thanks for your suggestions.
