I've read that the Oleophobic coating on the new iPhone 3GS can be damaged by applying any existing screen protectors, i.e. Zagg Invisible Shield, Bodyguardz, Power Support Crystal film and etc. Can anyone confirm this because I really don't feel safe in having my iPhone naked with no protection.
One of the biggest reasons why I don't even want to put a cover on the iPhone is because I just absolutely love the feel of the iPhone itselft, especially the new Oleophobic screen. I'll be waiting to hear back from all of you, especially those that purchased the ZAGG protector.
yes, it does have an oleophobic coating which acts like a grease and oil repellent (kind of like water & oil). Many are saying the existing screen protectors aren't sticking right and if it's adhesive, it might ruin the coat...I'm anxious to know since i still haven't applied my Bodtguardz kit!!
Just wanted to leave feedback on applying the Bodyguardz on the new iPhone 3GS. They are definitely compatible with each other, and I must say I love this screen/body protector. My iPhone 3GS looks beautiful naked, as if there nothing there. I'll try to post some pic's for you'll review.
i contacted apple tech support and asked them the same question. The lady said apple does not recommend any screen protector as it has a oleophobic coating. She however strongly recommended using a case for the iphone to protect aginst damage in case of any accidental drop from our hand.
