Can Screen Protectors Damage the Oleophobic Coating Screen & Back?

I've read that the Oleophobic coating on the new iPhone 3GS can be damaged by applying any existing screen protectors, i.e. Zagg Invisible Shield, Bodyguardz, Power Support Crystal film and etc. Can anyone confirm this because I really don't feel safe in having my iPhone naked with no protection.

I purchased the Zagg invisible shield... installed the back 1/2, but heard it may damage the Oleophobic coating on the screen. I asked Zagg directly, this is from my conversation with Zagg tech support today.

"We have verified with Apple that it would not. However when installing it, please let the shield dry at least 24 hours before turning the device back on."

I just hate not being able to use the phone for a whole day! I'll update if I ever get the nerve to put it on.

I have used the Zagg invisible shield on every I- phone I have owned,( which is up to 3 now). I put the shield on the back and on the screen and have absolutely no ill effects from it at all. It will not do a thing to your phone at all, other than protect it ! It is a great product. I had to remove it once because I dropped my phone and the shield peeled ever so slightly. Zagg sent me a new one for free and the screen was perfectly fine and like new. Order one and you wont want another phone without it! Dan
