Chroma Key (green screen) in iMovie?

I want to do some green screen effects. I've got iMovie 7.1.4 and Mac OS 10.5.7

I downloaded the chromakey plugin from cf/x and installed it, but it doesn't show up in iMovie. I can't even find a single reference to "plug-in" when I search help.

What gives here?

There are no "add on" plug-ins for your version of iMovie.
What you downloaded is for older versions.

OK, so what are my options? Is there somewhere I can download an older version of iMovie? Is there another inexpensive movie editing program that's also easy to use (I'm no expert). And thirdly, why on earth would they not allow plugins? People want to create effects. I don't see any on board effects!

Many people buy iLife '06 on places like eBay.
iMovie version 8 includes many effects.

Can you please tell me where the effects are hiding in iMovie '08? I don't see them anywhere. I even searched help for the word "effects" and only found audio effects.

iMovie 09 has green screen. It is part of iLife 09.
