Can't slide to unlock iPhone

Does anyone experience this kind of problem?
And how do you fix it?

Can't unlock my iphone by slide the bar and in the mean time
the monitor's like dead, can't play ipod either.

And I found out that if I knock it really hard, it will back to normal.
But could happen again right next time I try to unlock it.
Or if I sync with iTunes, it will back to normal.
And this could keep it normal for days, then happen again.

I thought it has something to do with the software.
But after I upgradedto OS3.0 and "did not" resotre it,it still happened.

I think it's a hardware problem.
Should I just send it back to repair?

I get this too sometimes. Even when I go to slide to answer a phone call. It happened on my 1st gen. & now it has happened a few times on my 3GS...So far I haven't found a solution.

I have a similar problem happen fairly often. I can slide the box to the right side... but then it doesn't answer the call. I can hold the box at the right-most position for seconds but as soon as I let go, the box just slides back to the left and meanwhile the phone keeps on ringing.

It's incredibly frustrating. The worst user interface bug I think I've ever seen on a product - a phone that you cannot answer?..

My suspicion is that it mostly happens when I had previously locked the screen in the middle of using an app (rather than returning to the main screen and then locking it). If I then get a phone call, sometimes I cannot answer it. Apple engineers: please fix this.
