Problem: Bright Green Colors Change when Exporting to PDF

I've carefully selected a bright green color in Pages that looks very different when exported to a PDF and then opened with Adobe Acrobat.

It looks correct when I view it through any apple application (including Preview), but I need it to open properly in Adobe. I've attempted to save to a JPG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, PCT, DOC, and even to use a screenshot and then upload to Adobe. It always looks fine on my mac, but whenever I open any form of the file in Acrobat, the colors look different. I can't figure this out.

Any thoughts?

Jacob is right the green he is after is well beyond the cmyk range and I doubt he will be printing to hexachrome.

This is one of those occasions where in a real job using professional software you would be using a 5th spot color, something not permitted in Pages or Apple's printing model, and something which you persistently dismiss Henrik.

As I said previously some greens are hard to reproduce, all that is possible is an approximation which will look considerably duller in cmyk even if it is an inkjet.

However unless it is an area of flat color the actual green can be illusory, it all depends on the color setting and associated surrounding colors as to what the green will look like to the observer's eye. To punch up the appearance of the green, you can place it against a darker contrasting color, but this may not be possible in his design.

Jacob,

Must you use this green?

What is the critereon? Just that you love the color on screen? Because that is the wrong way to go about design.

The screen is not the final printed paper. You work to the medium and there are design techniques to achieve the superior results that you may see in some printed jobs.

There are also technical methods to achieve certain results, usually adding to the cost. Unfortunately Pages is not a professional DTP software and combined with the serious limitations of Apple's OSX printing technology it will be impossible to do what it takes.

You would need to work with a professional quality offset printer to achieve the result you seek, using professional software like Indesign or Quark Xpress, and possibly throwing more money at the job than is usual with VistaPrint.

Somehow though with your level of experience I don't think that is actually possible here.
