Slow iPhone 3G after 3.0 OS update

Has anyone else had their iPhone 3G slow down after updating the software on it? For me, it's not super slow, it's just a delay of about .5 to 1 second, but when I notcie it, it is exremeley annoying. And when I try to turn the keyboard to the side to text on it, it's also kinda slow. And if anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me. I have already deleted all of the apps that I don't use and it made it a little bit faster. Or could you just tell me if this is normal. Thank you for taking time to read this.

Same here , bud... 3.0 is fun and useful, but quite annoying on the reliability side.

I spoke with Apple Support on this. They had me do a "hard reset". And that made a huge improvement. Right now, it seems like the phone is back up to full speed, but I'll need a couple of days to test.

It seems what happens is when you exit an app, some of it stays in memory. If you do that enough, you fill your memory and the whole thing slows down. Do a hard reset, memory is cleared. The support guy said we should do a re-boot or hard reset once a day!

Hard reset: Hold down the home and top button. Keep holding it past when you see the Power Off message. Hold until you see the Apple logo, and let it re-boot.

did anyone notice if their screen brightness stays dim when you rurn your phone on? It looks like the brightness autodetect is not good anymore. also my battery drains way faster than before. that's just great... os 3.0 is too powerful for my iphone 3g so it lags so much and drains the battery trying to run things. this is freaking absurd and a waste of time and energy.

i've been reading about restoring to the old os. does anyone have any experience with that? do you know if apple genius bar can do that?

here is one of the sites talking about downgrading the os. it's the same procedure across many sites regarding this topic. i haven't done this yet myself.

note that everyone says the os (operating system) can be downgraded but the baseband can't. i'm not too sure what that implies but that the modem firmware can't downgrade. is this a good or bad thing?

I am not noticing the battery issues that others are mentioning, if anything it's a little better (not much) - but I am noticing a terrible slow down/lag.

I tried the reset all, and it didn't seem to make that much of a difference.

Hopefully there will be a new release that'll make it quicker.

I can't go back to the old O/S though - loving the stereo bluetooth.

My iphone also has had issues since the new OS came out. When I go to end a call sometimes the screen will not light up and show me the end call button. It just freezes and I have to reset.

I have so many issues in the past with the iphone I am seriously considering not buying the new one when my contract is up in another year, that is if this iphone makes it through a year.

I have updated my iPhone 3G to OS 3.0 and almost every application is slower. Slower loading, slower execution and even slower exit. For example, I have ACTPrinter to "print" stuff from my Mac to iPhone directly, like invoices and so on. It is taking forever to load now and to view the "printed" pages. Getting into Photos and iPod apps is taking almost twice the time. Some apps now exit or hang in a shorter period of time than they used to. For example, Speak it! hangs after a couple of text inputs.
I read on the internet that the processor on the iPhone 3G can run up to 625MHz but Apple has set the clock to 412MHz to improve battery life. Can Apple boost the speed a little to improve the delays?
