Has anyone else had their iPhone 3G slow down after updating the software on it? For me, it's not super slow, it's just a delay of about .5 to 1 second, but when I notcie it, it is exremeley annoying. And when I try to turn the keyboard to the side to text on it, it's also kinda slow. And if anyone knows how to fix this, please tell me. I have already deleted all of the apps that I don't use and it made it a little bit faster. Or could you just tell me if this is normal. Thank you for taking time to read this.
i pressed the restore button on the iphone page that comes up on itunes when you plug it in [sorry if that sounds untechnical] in order to restore my calendar settings [which it didnt]and i mention it here because i think some people are recommending that you do it as a solution to the 3.0 speed problem. i dont think it made my phone any faster, not noticeably anyway. but its a cool thing to do, really automatic and not fiddly [ i dont know if you use that word in america, but you probably know what i mean].
Just a heads up, also seeing a lot of complaints already about the iTunes software version. Sounds like it just compounds the problems we are already having with the iPhone 3.0 software.
do you mean the newest itunes update, the one that blocks the palm pre from itunes? i havent downloaded it yet. how would it make the iphone slower. i thought itunes was only for syncing the iphone and didn't affect its os.
Holy cow! I guess this is what I get for not checking this post in quite a while. If you do a "Restore All Settings" every once in a while, it should increase the speed dramatically. I really hope that this helps anyone else still having this problem!
My iPhone has become so frustratingly slow and unstable after up(down?!)grading to OS3.0. I really regret it. Writing text messages has become torturous with the ridiculous amount of keyboard lag and sometimes it will even drop itself off the network.
Wifi drops out a lot too whereas it didn't before - i hear this is because too much heat is being generated by the processor working overtime to run the stupid new OS..
If you haven't upgraded - don't - if you don't own an iphon, well then lucky you... don't buy one!!!
Hi Richard 432, do you have a 8G or 16G. iphone ? Everyone experiencing slow iphone after 3.o upgrade should specify if they own a 8G or 16G iphone. The issue might be size related.....
I am beginning to suspect that the 8GB iPhone is incapable of handing the 3.0 firmware upgrade, because of size constraints. It's unfortunate that the iTunes upgrade 8.2 was released at the same time as the firmware upgrade 3.0 for the iPhone, as it has made it unclear as to which one is the culprit....
That's only my humble opinion, as a none technical observer.
PS; Notice the new I phone 3GS is not available in 8G.. !!
Update: Either turning off or unsubscribing from subscribed calendars fixed my annoyingly slow lag. The more subscribed calendars I had, the slow the phone became. Now, I only subscribe to one and it moves along just fine...well, almost. I'm still considering whether or not to just go back to desktop syncing of my calendars. Subscribing to just one with very little calendar info causes just enough lag to drive me nuts.
