How To Disable Voice Command Feature permanently

I want to disable the Voice Command feature permanently. I know that it can be disabled when the iPhone 3GS is locked, but I want to disable it completely. Is it possible?

Apple! Please release a patch to turn this feature off. It's weak, and not all of us want to use it. I'd much rather have the ability to map another feature to holding the home button.

I cannot believe this post is so old! ...and still valid!

Had my Iphone 4 for nearly 2 years now and used it for running regularly.

Today voice control kept activating while my running app was going. I ignored it at first (didn't realize what was going on) and nearly called my new job interviewer back!!! When back home I unplugged headphones and left it on table; it kept doing the same and I kept deactivating it. Only after I realized the home button wasn't working anymore. Whatever I was tapping I had to switch off and on againg to go back to my home screen.

It calmed down a bit after a while but looks like the home button is still not perfectly working and had to put my phone on plane-mode to prevent voice control calling around. It could be moisture gone in?

I haven't read all 25 pages of posts but in reply to those saying that Iphone shouldn't be exposed to sweat I say that sweatty hands might occour in hot clima! So, what? Those living in warmer areas of this world or having sweaty hands shouldn't be having an Iphone? Well, if this is the case than Apple should write it in capital letters when advertising this product! For the price it costs it should be "sweat resistent" at least!

Please fix it on new versions!!

I am having the same problem with voice control and its nothing to do with headphones.

My home button stopped working properly about 18 months back after a software upgrade (the phone was new, great). I got used to having to hard press it all the time and not being able to double click it etc.

Today I upgraded to iOS5 (or whatever number it is) and all night my phone has been randomly phoning people even when I'm sat in total silence with my phone laying on the side! Coincidence?? I've disabled everything I can in Settings.

End result is I have switched it off (I need it for the alarm but I can't deal with it bleeping all night even though its on mute).

This pos has never worked properly for me. I'll put my SIM card in a different phone tomorrow and will never buy another Apple product.

I had the same problem with "Voice Control": it would sporadically interrupt, stopping my music until I pressed "Cancel" only to interrupt again a song later. I purchased a new IPOD, only to encounter the same problem. Then I replaced the Philips earphones that had a control for volume (that didn't work) with on old headset that I had lying around. The problem went away. Too bad the guys at the Genius Bar didn't ask about the earphones I was using.

My formerly fine iphone has begun doing really bizarre things. Voice control keeps activTing itself, especially when I am using google maps. It has also begun playing itunes tapes randomly at random times. And. Ow for the first time has begun calling random people. I do not use headphones. I rarely listen to my itunes music. This problem is bizarre. Who can recommend a phone that allows me to synch contacts with my macbook?

Apple people are you DEAF? For couple of years now users have been asking you to come up with a way to turn off that ****** voice control thing but you keep ignoring us... What in the world you guys think you can accomplish by leaving that thing on in every new ios version since you already know that people hate it!

Are you that stubborn or a bunch of incompetents who can't fix a bug? Please don't turn these nice pieces of technology into some crappy devices that will eventually **** everybody off. Is that your ultimate goal? To step all over a genius' legacy? I hope not!

An extremely frustrated user...

I'm kind of frustrated using my iPod touch 4th generation. I also have an iPod nano 5th generation and I'm using only one earphones. The Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic.

So here's my experience with my iPod nano,

Whenever I'm on the go, using my iPod nano, I can easily navigate the songs and even the playlist I created.

For example, I press and hold the center button, then the iPod says the title of the song, and the artist singing the song, as I keep on holding it long enough, after it says the title and the artist's name, it will immidiately say the title of the playlists I made so I can just press the + and - button to choose/skip through going to the playlist that I wanna hear next.

Then here's my experience with my iPod touch,

As I keep on holding the center button, none of the songs and artist's name and even the playlist are being mentioned, instead it activates the Voice Control function which I don't want to use because definitely I'd look like a moron in front of so many people when I start mentioning the things that I want my iPod to do next.

I want something concrete to permanently deactivate the Voice Control of the iPod touch and have the same experience with my iPod nano.

P.S.

~ I already gave the iPod nano to my sister.

I hope one of the Apple Geniuses would attend to my concern.

Thank you.
