Pioneer car Bluetooth does not auto-connect to iPhone

I have the Pioneer AVH-P3100DVD head unit in my car, and I just put in the compatible CD-BTB200 Bluetooth adapter. I can get my iPhone to pair with the unit, however, when I turn the car off and back on, it will not reconnect. I've read elsewhere that it seems to work fine with most other phones, and the only other people I've heard having this problem are other iPhone owners.

Anyone have any idea what could be causing this and/or what a solution is?

MacBook Pro, iPhone 3G S, Mac OS X (10.5.7), 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 3GB SDRAM, 320GB HDD

Awesome thanks, I was able to register finally. That is kind of tricky because I didn't know you had to have the parking brake up in order to do so. So if anyone else is a noob like I am, you should do that!

Was not able to get the phonebook to download to the head unit. Here's hoping update 3.1 will make this possible... unless of course, someone has a fix that I am missing for that as well?

how to you "register" the phone? I have a pioneer deh-p7000bt. it used to work fine with iPhone 3G. Had to disconnect battery and now I can't get the p7000 and the iPhone to "pair" or to "connect." they each "see" the other, but I cannot get them to, I think, "connect." when i select the seen iPhone to connect, i get "error." can anyone help?
