How long does it take to ship?

Got mine in a little over a week.

I'd like to know this as well, if they EVER begin shipping to Hong Kong. I would love to get a 3GS 32gig if I could get one before I leave in a week but it looks like they will lose a sale. I refuse to buy AT&T. Why? Because I travel a lot and don't want to be tethered to AT&T's outrageous charges. Why have GSM if you are stuck with one provider? Please Apple, start shipping here via Apple Store and please, sell a phone in the US (home) that business people can use. Guess I'll stick with the itouch and a cheap GSM phone. It's Independence Day, think about offering unlocked phones in the US for people like me .....

And yes, I know about jail breaking. Just not worth the trouble. C'mon Apple, lend American business a hand. We could use it right now.

Ordered mine from Apple on 6/26. Still no email update, but just checked my order 7/3 and it now shows "prepared for shipment" instead of "not shipped"

Ordered mine online from Apple because nearest Apple store is over 2 hour drive. Had a big falling out with my local ATT store manager on launch day when their computer system crashed, waited at the register for 2 hours with the new 3gs in my hand, and they wouldn't let me activate at home.

I ordered mine from the AT&T store on Tuesday 6/30 and FedEx tracking number has it arriving tomorrow 7/3 to the store.

I ordered mine on Sunday 7/28 from the Apple store and it's still in status Not Shipped.

Does anyone know if today (Friday 7/3) is considered a business day or not?

Hard to predict, and there is some oddness.

A friend and I ordered on line within one hour of each other.

His shipped from China

Mine shipped from Fullerton, CA warehouse (He lives 5 miles from Fullerton).

The iPhones arrived within six hours of each other.

delivery all depends on your location. I live in altanta. I ordered the 3GS on a saturday (after the friday release) and the phone came in on the wednesday after. The manufacture usually ships the phone in 2-3 days but it is the delivery that is what takes longer. My phone was shipped fedex standard overnight.

I ordered mine (16gb black) 8pm (EST) on Sunday and mine also is not shipped.
I wouldn't be surprised if today is not considered a business day since many companies are having 4th of July holiday today. So probably only 4 business days so hopefully it will ship between Monday and Wednesday next week :-/

Update.....ordered mine on 6/30, delivered to store today 7/3 and have phone in hand right now restored and synced. I was surprised that it was delivered so fast, but I'm not complaining.

It takes up to 7 days of requesting it from an Apple Store or AT&T Store. Credit checks, inventory request, (no shipping on weekends), etc.

I just requested mine 7/3/2009 so it should be in by 7/10/2009 the next Friday which I would pick mine up on Saturday.

Did you pay the extra for quicker delivery?

The guy at the store placed the order. Receipt says "economy freight".
