When Logic will only play from a certain point...

Hey

Did a search on that. No result.
What is this about? What am I overlooking?
I have this song: I go to locator 1, press play, and then it jumps to bar 84.
Whenever I press play it jumps to bar 84!

I´m sure it´s straghtforward simple, but help me out.

Is there any type of marker or indicator at the bar you are jumping to? It sounds like the replay bar (don't know it's real name) is probably activated at that bar. If the bar is green, it's actively focusing playback at that area, if grey then it's inactive. See if that replay bar is there, it may have been set accidentally and not stretched out enough that it's easily visible... that's happened to me a couple of times.

Have you got Cycle mode on?
What key is play for you?
What does the *key command window* tell you this key is assigned to?
And what happens at bar 84?
When you close the song and reopen it, does it still happen? And if you quit and restart Logic? - restart the Mac?
If you make a fresh song, does it still happen?
And please tell me what happens at bar 84...

Yes, but this also happens when cycle is off.

A restart often helps. I´ve seen this 3 or 4 time before.

No.

And please tell me what happens at bar 84...

I wish I could tell.

This issue comes and goes.
This problematic song was just around a MacPro with a PTHD system.
And working on that system I noticed a few anormalities...Like the key command for
colors didn´t work, even though I imported my own set of KC.
In general I experience most problem when I move projects between computers.
(I don´t mean missing samples and plug ins)
So maybe that´s the culprit.

(⌘-spacebar, which is *Play or Stop and Go to Last Locate Position*. If you never use that command, de-assign it in the KC window.)

You may well forget that, it is my personal KC, not in the default set.

If that doesn't work, a last ditch effort could be to open a new project and copy/paste all your regions, which could be a pain in the butt depending on how you have your regions set up, but might be less of a pain in the butt than what you are currently experiencing.

Well, command-spacebar is a command I have, but it is not in the default Key Command set, so you probably do not have it.

Command-space is my holy grail key command, that shalleth ever remain pure and dedicated for one function, and one function only, for it is the magical incantation that summoneth forth(eth) The One, The Holy, The App For Which I Cannot(eth) Useth A Mac(eth) Without(eth), and The First(eth) Thing(eth) Thou Shalt Install(eth) On Any New Mac(eth)... La La La Launchbar.

(On reflection, I think I might have gone overboard on the eths, there, but... ah well, it's nearly Christmas, so why not..?)

Goodness, no. The dock is the absolute worst thing about OSX. I have no dock, I hate the thing.

It is only software...

Clearly someone who hasn't been touched by the light of Launchbar. 'Tis not only software, it's an entire workflow, which makes it central to everything I do...
