MagSafe 85W model A1290 and A1222 the same?

Hi all,

I had a 15" MacBook Pro (late 2008) with a second power adapter (A1222) and bought a new 17" MacBook Pro (2009). The 17" comes with a A1290 power adapter but also with 85W. Could I easily use the second power adapter from the 15" (A1222) with my 17" MBP? Both have 85W - the only difference is that the output is stated on the adapter: A1290: 16,5-18,5V 4,6A max
on the A1222 is: 18,5V 4,6A and 16,5V 3,6A

The question is that I want to avoid buying a second 17" adapter when I already have a 85W adapter from the 15". Could I destroy my 17" when I full use it with the 15" power adaptor?
