Hello there,
Did you copy and paste text into something such as notepad or similar and save it as a text file? If so, I would try retyping the text file manually or changing the character format because the copy and pasted text may have characters and formats that are unfamiliar to the iPod.

Otherwise, just try typing up a small text file and syncing it to your iPod and see if that is viewable. That way you can discover exactly where the problem lies (either with the one file or with your iPod or text file application).

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Well what I did first is having a TextEdit file on witch I added the .txt extension (on the name). It didn't work.

So I created and TexteEdit file, and typed abcdefg and called it that with the .txt extension. The problem was still here.

I juste tried to do that with the program Notepad that I didn't have and the problem doesn't show up !

So it seems that TextEdit and Ipod does not like each other. How come it is said in the instructions that any text program was ok to make the files ?

Thanks !

The iPod needs a plain text file, as opposed to rich text file.
The only thing in a plain text file is exactly what you see. A rich text file (and other types of text files) have hidden codes to display the text in certain ways such as bold or underlined. These hidden characters will display funky on the iPod (as you have noticed).
