getting CDDB lookup for WAV files?

I have a set of WAV files that are album tracks. I added them to iTunes using Add to Library and selecting the directory that contains the files. How do I tell iTunes to perform CDDB lookup on them?

I tried Advanced->Get CD Track Names". It says "iTunes cannot get CD track names for songs that were not imported using iTunes".

How do I tell iTunes to perform the same CDDB lookup for these files that it would do if they were tracks on a CD?

Thanks!

PowerBook G4, Mac OS X (10.4.11), iTunes 8.2 (23)

My iTunes was part of my copy of OS X and my paid copy of iLife on a paid piece of Apple hardware.

Apple sent some of that money to Gracenote.

There's nothing wrong with a paid service. Apple got paid, Gracenote got paid; it is good to get paid. The arrangements are all in place and everyone has been paid for iTunes to do a Gracenote lookup.

The problem is iTunes is unable to do a Gracenote lookup for anything but a physical CD.

Blah blah blah, yes Trish, we all got it. You have tracks you didn't import with iTunes and therefore can't be looked up on Gracenotes. No one knows of any third party tools to do it for you. We are all just users like you, not Apple employees. And your question has been asked and answered. Further repeating the same complaint over and over here is not going to change anything.
Re-import the CDs with iTunes or enter the info by hand. Other than that, unless someone comes along to post about a tool that will work, there is not much more to be said on the topic. Submit your complain to the iTunes feedback page...

I can't entirely agree.

It's not the case that I have tracks I didn't import with iTunes; rather, I have tracks that iTunes can't import with the same Gracenote lookup that it performs for tracks on CDs.

It's not the case that my question has been answered, as of yet.

And I certainly hope it's not the case that there are no tools that can do this. I appreciate the links pointing to some possible tools. I hope at least one of them will perform the task. That would solve my problem, answer my question, and fill a notable gap in iTunes functionality.

Thanks everyone for all your help. I do appreciate.
