IPod 4GB capacity?

I know this is going to sound like a silly question to all you techies out there, but here it is...My Nano (2nd generation, I believe) has a 4GB capacity, which according to the website, is approximately 1,000 songs. But, I've only got 518 songs on there (no pictures, videos, etc.) and it's full. None of the songs are extraordinarly long and there's nothing on there but music. Am I missing something?

Thanks! 🙂

Hi

We have same problem - a 4GB ipod nano (ie approx 1,000 songs) that's apparently reached full capacity but only contains 479 songs. Our computer recently crashed & we're re-loading our libraries, etc and before then she had at least 900 songs on it. I've tried restoring the ipod but it just loads the 479 songs again & I get the same message about capacity being full.

Any help would be really appreciated - please keep it simple cos I'm in my 40's!

Thanks
