Flexnet publisher

There is an item in my system called flexnet publisher,m what is it? Second question, each time I save an item from Photoshop to my hard drive a cached item is save too, how can I stop this?

G5, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Congratulations, you have discovered Adobe's new anti-pirate crud, and the chief reason I decided to not upgrade from CS1 to CS4. It is also known to occasionally cause problems of various sorts, from filling your logs with error messages, to outright OS freezes. See here:

And Photoshop caches a LOT of things in various places. AFAIK the only thing you can do is look for a cache cleaner application that will nuke the stuff, or do it yourself. But of course, the caches will be redone....
