Canon 9950F and Image Capture
Hi there,
I've been using this Canon 9950F flatbed scanner for a few years, and it has been pretty successful, other than some gnashing of teeth when Leopard came out and the Canon drivers didn't work, etc. Everything seems to work now, though, except for one thing...
I can't seem to scan slides. Not something I usually do, but now I have a need.
I tried a few scans, using Image Capture, and everything came out very dark. It looks like the scanner is trying to handle it like a 'normal', opaque document, rather than as a transparent document.
I did remove the white background piece inside the scanning compartment, per the scanner's instructions. I also re-downloaded and re-installed the latest scanner drivers from Canon's site.
Anyway, I'm not totally clear on how this should work, but it seems like there should be an option somewhere in Image Capture to tell it that you are scanning slides/negatives, not documents/pictures.
Thoughts? Work arounds? Thanks!
