What phone is compatible with Mac?

Sorry, but really did not know where to put this.

My girlfriend wants a new phone...well she has to get one as we cant find any apps to run on the Mac that will enable her to copy her pictures from it to the Mac. Tried Missing Sync, but the phone (Nokia 6630) has a too old Symbian version to work with it.

So what phones work well with the Mac?
Anyone know what the compatibility with phones like the Sony Erriccison Cybershop is like? or even newer Nokia? There is no Nokia PC suite for the Mac, so what is the alternative?

Want to find out what others use

Cheers

Neil

I am sure it would, for you maybe, but I would not want a dedicated camera to have a phone, in the same way I would not want a dedicated phone to have a camera, GPS, web browser etc etc, but if you want a multi function device I do not see anything wrong with getting one with the best devices for what you want.
If the GF wanted a phone with good web browser/e-mail/ games etc then an iPhone would be great and something like the Sony Ericsson C905 would be less good. She want a phone with a camera, so an offering with 2 or 3 MP camera is just not good enough, not saying it is a bad product just because one of its features lets it down in comparison to others that do that feature better. The iPhone does loads of stuff better the the C905, but all those functions are useless to her

Just about any bluetooth phone will allow you to do file transfers over bluetooth. However, if you want to sync any of the contact data, it must be [iSync compatible|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2824].
That list includes the 6630, so you don't need anything like the Missing Sync.

I don't know of anything that will sync photos with anything other than the iPhone; however, as I mentioned, you can use bluetooth file exchange to move pictures back and forth manually.

Thanks for the compatible phone list. That is just what I needed, did not think that many phones were compatible with Mac, Cheers

Sorry, should have made it more clear in the original post, the girlfriend takes lots of pictures with her phone at present, even though it is only a 3Megapixel camera, would be looking for a phone with a better camera....Sony Erricisson Cybershot I think is now 8M Pixel.

I seem to think I read that the iPhone is only 2 Mega Pixel....a bit of a joke really, why did they even bother if they cant put a decent camera in.

Cheers guys

3, well that is better, but my 5 year old Nokia 6630 had that, was hoping for something a bit better from the iPhone. I had planned to get her one, till I found out about the camera. She did have a look at a mates iPhone, but did find it a bit confusing, she did not like the touch screen
I would get one for myself, but for the fact that software that I use for work does not have an iPhone version, it needs Win Mobile.

I would hardly say that the iPhone is primarily a phone....that seems to be one of it lesser functions....

Thanks Barney, Carolyn,
It is the ability to easily copy photos from the phone that I was looking for , the contact and message sync is only of minor imoprtance. Using Nokia PCSuite or even the built in Windows Explorer, the current Nokia just appears as a removable drive on the PC.
Was hoping to find a phone for the Mac with good camera (5 MP at least) that mimics that same ease of use that Windows Explorer gives with the Nokia when transfering photos to the PC. A phone that she can plug straight into the Mac and she can drag and drop the photos off of it.
