iPhone makes my hand tingle

I just got my first iPhone and ever since I got it I've noticed a tingling sensation in finger, the knuckles actually, of the hand holding the phone.

It happens with both hands and as soon as pick it up I start to feel it.

My wife and I got phones at the same time, she doesn't notice it with her phone. Tomorrow I'll switch with her and see if she feels it with my phone and if I don't with hers.

It's a very disconcerting feeling, like you have a small electric current going through your hand.

I have found a few other posts online with people mentioning this, and someone thought it might be related to the current in the screen.

Does anyone else feel it or know what it is?

I went to the iPhone Store a week ago, and they immediately exchanged my phone. The tech said that every iPhone that is brought in for exchange for whatever reason is tested for whatever reason it was brought in for.

For those of you who think my tingling was related to using the phone too much, I can tell you that it had nothing to do with that at all, since I would get the sensation as soon as picked up the phone. If anything, it prevented me from using the phone as much as I would have liked to.

I will probably never know what was causing it, but I have not felt the sensation with the new iPhone.

Hello Steve,

This is not your imagination, I also have this sensation in my fingers. As an Engineer I can tell you the SAR rating on the IPhone is one of the highest. I notice the tingling sensation when I use the phone on speaker phone as well as data web. I think Apple need to address the high power output of this phone. It is not the screen, it is the transmitter in the phone which steps up it's output based on the location to the nearest cell tower. I have noticed if I can see a local cell tower the tingling sensation stops which would indicate the phone is operating at a lower power output. It concerns me that the long term usage of this phone will result in health issues.
