What is the best monitor for a PowerMac G5?

Monitor prices have dropped dramatically over the past few years. For around 200 bucks, you can probably find one new, check out name brands such as Viewsonic, Samsung, Acer, Dell, if you can get a 23 or 24 incher with resolution of 1900X1200 HD go fot it. It makes a world of difference.

Dell has a very good 30" screen for 800.00 dollars . I got mine early this year when they had some refurbished one's . I like the price for them over apple's screen's . Apple has a very high price for them .

David, make sure your graphics card can support the 30 inch. If the screen is 1920X1200 that should not be a problem as all G5 I know will be fine. If not you would want to make sure that your graphics card is capable of the higher resolutions of the 30 incher. You can check your card's specs with system profile on your mac.

Im running an ACER 22" (AL2216W) and an ACER 19" (P191W) they both work like a charm. I paid $169 for the 22" and $119 for the 19"at Office Depot. But Ive actually seen them cheaper in sales ads since I bought mine. Isnt that the way it always works?

thats too small for me its like when you first get a big screen tv . You are overwhelmed my it . I like the dell 30 in screen plus my 24 in screen .

Manuel - You don't say which processor or graphics card you have. In spite of this, I'll add my anecdotal 2¢ - I've got a 2.3GHz w/9700 ATI. Last November, I bought a Dell 24" ultra sharp for around $500. Now, I see them on eBay for under $500. It works great with my EyeTV - I tend to record a lot. The monitor has fantastic color and resolution. I haven't had an issue with it, performance or durability-wise. But, that was more than $200. If you don't mind CRT's then I'm sure you could pick-up a good one on eBay. Something like a Sony GDM-1960 can be had reasonably - under ~$10. IIRC, their resolution is something like 1280x1024 w/a 130MHz pixel clock. The shipping, they're pretty heavy and bulky, would cost an order of magnitude more! I will say this, though, if the Sony CRT is anything, it's durable. I have one and it has displayed beautiful images & video for almost 20 years. For $240, I'd consider the Dell SP2309W, which has 2048x1152, and is $40 more than what the Dell 22", which has 1680x1050 resolution, costs.
