I'm just saying, that is the limit. I would typically use 2 or 4 guitars. And we always have freeze, so I think a dual 2GHZ PPC could use the amps quite well.
After using L9 for a few hours, l've noticed a general performance improvement in some operations over L8 but a couple of the newer features really seem to tax the CPU's... Analyzing tracks for the flex modes seems a bit slow.
Thanks to all you PPC guys for posting results, I have a dual 2.7 and thought I was going to have to plunk down the serious dough for a new computer and now I won't have to for a little while longer.... cheers.
do you work for apple? the argument that apple haven't made a PPC for years leaves me to speechless to comment and the comment about he can carry on using 8 well 8 is an incomplete buggy program that we have been waiting for an update for for over a year. I have tried to stay silent about this because I was a massive apple fan and hoped that an update was around the corner but this sort of replies to frustrated apple users doesn't help anybody and just feels like a misguided sales pitch that is hardly going to make you any friends in the real world 😉
Has anyone installed and used Logic 9 on a dual 1.25 GHz G4? If so, what was your experience? L8 has worked fine for me given the projects I normally do, but am leery about upgrading.
bump. Would love to know this too. G5 dual is my main machine, but use a Powerbook G4 for mobile tracking (nothing too intense. Maybe an Altiverb and Addicted Drums plug w/ 8-10 tracks of audio).
