Can't Wirelessly Share Internet Connection Any More

I used to share my internet connection, without my router, through the Sharing panel of System Preferences. After messing around with some of the settings, laptops are no longer able to connect. These are the currently configured settings:

Share Connection From: Built-In Ethernet
To Computers Using: Ethernet, Airport

Should something else be enabled?

Kinda slight on details.
What happens when the laptops try to connect?
Which network did the connect to before (SSID)?
Do they still see the same SSID advertised now?
I will assume your mac can still connect to the internet?

When it tries to connect, there is a check next to my computer's name in the laptop's Airport Configuration. Even so, it can't connect.

It's still connecting to the same network, and the laptop shows the same network name.

And yes, I can still connect to internet.

Went through the steps, but the laptop still can't connect.

Is your laptop being asked to authenticate when attempting to connect?
Maybe delete the network connection on the laptop and start fresh.
If it authenticates, does it get an ip address?
What software is on the laptop? Any Firewall?
Can you ping anything?
Can you surf by ip instead of name?

No there's no authenticating involved.

Yes it does get an IP, just different from the one used on my regular Mac.

Firewall is turned off.

I tried pinging Google but it said Cannot Resolve Host I believe.

And I tried surfing by IP, but it just keeps loading, nothing appears.

Does the ip it is getting start with 169.254?

The laptop trying to connect wirelessly is failing to obtain an ip from your mac. Not sure which is at fault yet.

Is the laptop a mac, windows, or other?
