Hard Drive xbench Speed

I have a new 2.8GHz MacBook Pro with the 7200rpm 500GB hard drive and my xbench scores are as follows...

My external WD 1TB drive scores in the mid-sixties, it seems like my internal 7200rpm drive should be scoring much higher than my external....Anyone have an xbench score from their 7200rpm drive?

Let me start with me begging and pleading that you please forgive my ignorance for what I am about to ask. I have a mid 2009, 17" MacBook Pro, 2.8GHz with the 500GB, 7200RPM drive. I ran XBench but I cannot find any information on what "Good" results should look like. Is there anything anywhere that says what the range of the results should be? Is higher better than lower? I understand that XBench isn't that reliable, but I was just curious.

Do some file copying tests for example between differing units and you'll see what I mean.

I just don't rate XBench hard disk stats, they're never reliable or consistent.

XBench tests 8 different disk performance parameters. Doing a 'real world' file copy only tests 2. This is hardly representative of real world in all regards to HD performance.

For instance, my SSD will launch apps lightning fast (real word) but cloning to my SSD is not even one forth the speed of cloning to my 5400 RPM Hitachi (real world).

I find XBench to be very consistent with my Hitachi drive and all standard hard drives I have owned. I do find it to be very inconsistent with my SSD.

Incidentally, my 5400 RPM 250GB Hitachi scores 9% faster using the EFI 1.6 firmware than it does using the EFI 1.7 firmware on my MBP 15" 2.53GHz. This is very consistent with several tests, all after fresh boots and PRAM resets and all with XBench.
