AirPort connecting and disconnecting

I re-installed Tiger on my old G4 so that I could give a clean version to my son. However, even though it sees the network and can connect, it connects, then disconnects, then connects, then...you get the picture. It just keeps going like this. I have re-installed the AirPort Extreme software, rebooted, etc. Anyone have problems like this? Any solutions?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Many have experienced and are experiencing the same thing with the AE. I would love to be able to use mine, but the disconnects and intermittent slow performance make it a no-go. There are many many comments here about the syndrome, but so far there appears to be no answer. Perhaps Snow Leopard in Sept will resolve the issue????

The thing is, the connection is fine on all of the PC's and my MacBook Pro. And it was working until I reinstalled the OS on the iBook. I'm just trying to find out if anyone knows a way around this, either with a driver update or some other method.
