..Rebate question.

Hey, I couldn't find a discussion with a similar topic to mine so I am just posting here...
So I submitted a rebate for the iPod and printer thing, and after 1 month of waiting I get an email from Apple saying they need to speak to me. They said that my Macbook Pro UPC wasn't in the envelope (it was) , and said they needed it. I told them I tucked it in the forums with the other UPCS, and that they must have misplaced it because it was completely sealed, and there is no way it could have just "fell out" (they suggested it might have). They told me that they are sending my claim to a specialist and they are going to take a look at it. I do have my original receipt and it has my computers UPC number on it and everything. They said there might be a chance that I might not get my rebate. What do you guys think? I don't believe it's my fault and I would feel extremely disappointed if I paid for an iPod I don't need and a printer that probably isn't that good of a quality anyways ( I took the free 100$ one lol ). Hopefully I get some positive news from them, but any ideas of what you guys have of what Apple would do would be great!!!
THANKS A TON

hopefully I get good news.

This is a user to user forum.
Your best bet is to contact the phone number on the rebate website:

http://www.apple.com/ca/promo/faq.html

Note it says:

What should I do if I have issues or concerns about a rebate claim I submitted or want to contact someone directly?
To escalate an issue with the processing of your claim, contact the Apple Rebate Center at 1-800-526-4906.

Rebates, not from Apple, have in the past have taken me as much as 13 weeks to receive. It is for this reason, I always save my money before buying anything, rather than rely on rebates.

If you aren't happy with their response, call them back, and ask to speak to a manager.

If you are still unhappy with their response, contact your government's consumer protection agency.

Update.

after countless amount of times trying to get my rebate I went into the local apple store and talked to the specialist that helped me buy my computer. He called the rebate store in behalf of me and in 2 days my money arrived. This is very strange to me. Nevertheless, I advise to stay away from rebates.

In a hurry for a rebate? Wow... that's a first. Typical processing time is 8-10 weeks. I bought my MBP on the 3rd of July, submitted the claim on the 6th of July. My check was shipped on Friday 31st and is slated to arrive in 8-12 days.

So I'd say 4-6 weeks, possibility of 8-10 weeks. Submit the appropriate paperwork online, wait for the claim confirmation. If there's no activity or confirmation in 2 weeks give them a call to just confirm. That's what I did and spoke with a very helpful gal in Salt Lake City, UT who confirmed that everything was being processed.
