Would anyone know if it's possible to edit one's iPhone contacts in iTunes? My phone has recently gotten itself a "dead spot" on the screen which has the annoying consequence of preventing me from entering in a new contact's last name. It's a real pain in the butt to put the fist and last name on the same line because then it no longer shows up alphabetically in my contact list.
If you are syncing contacts with your computer (Windows Address Book, etc.), then any changes you make on the computer will be transferred to the iPhone the next time you sync.
iTunes does not store contacts, nor can you access iPhone contacts with iTunes. Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported application on your computer with iTunes serving as the sync conduit for this data.
With XP and Vista, this can be with Outlook 2003 or 2007 along with calendar events, or with the address book used by Outlook Express with XP, or with the address book used by Windows Mail with Vista - named Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only - where you can access this data - enter a new contact, edit an existing contact, or delete a contact followed by a sync to transfer the changes to your iPhone.
