iTunes radio stops streaming on its own

It seems to happen randomly. Usually an iTunes radio station will stream for hours, but sometimes it will simply stop for no apparent reason. When it stops it usually stops repeatedly after playing for only a few minutes. It's not the "rebuffering stream" message; it simply stops as though I pressed the stop button. Pressing play restarts the stream as though nothing had happened.

So is this an ISP issue, or the radio streaming source?

Running iTunes 11:1.2 with Mavericks. Love iTunes radio, but sometimes at the END of a song, it simply doesn't go on to the next. These are not internet problems--it never happens during songs. The stream just stalls at the end of a song. Occasionally, in time in restarts. Most of the time, I have to restart iTunes. Also, it can happen repeatedly on a station, but not another. Clearly it's an iTunes problem and I have been experiencing it ever since iTunes radio came out.

Yep, a different problem that this original thread (since the thread started LONG before the itunes radio you are talking about).

I also have this problem. It seems that a song ends and when it's time to get the next song.. just.. never gets it. I'm in my office, strong and big internet connection. I can get it restarted if I switch stations (and can switch back and it will work fine).

Going to start a new discussion since this original discussion is about broadcast radio on itunes.

Well, I gave up on Pandora years ago. It's pretty pathetic. Went to Live365.com, paid for no ads. iTunes Radio gives me exactly what I want, the tunes I want, the selection, in a way nothing has. I found that if I hit the double arrows, it restarts. Not to big of a problem. But they need to fix it so that it doesn't stall. Apple, are you listening?

I have been using Apple Music since it launched and the radio will stop playing after an hour or so. I am not talking about Beats1 (I don't think I have been able to listen to it for more than an hour 🙂) but for the other radio stations.

Simple things that you take for granted seem to be difficult for Apple.

It's times like this that "Its just works" starts to sound like a joke.

I'm having the same issue. However, even after turning on the "repeat" option, it just stops. Sometimes I can listen to music for hours sometimes minutes. Usually when this happens, I cant hit play on the same station. If I do, itll stop again in seconds, no matter how many times I push it and at any time interval. I am listening on an iMac that we bought in 2012 and I switched from Pandora because of the adds and the limited skips. I am now considering going back because of these ongoing issues.
