Snow Leopard - will it kill iMovie HD?

I've got a question about Snow Leopard. Does anyone more tech savy than me know if installing Snow Leopard will brick iMovie HD ('06). I know it's old, but I've got a ton of themes and stuff for it and it just cranks out good video.

If you have a snow leopard build and also iMovie HD any help would be really appreciated.

You may be right. However, to test your claim, I started a new project. Imported photos from iPhoto to iMovie 6, and the same problem - the timeline viewer is totally off-kilter with the photo clips.

Thanks for your report, I wonder if your problem has nothing to do with 10.6?

Have you tried a job with no photos?

I hope we don't have to have a 'dual-boot' system to run iMovie 06 and iDVD 09.

You should make a bug report to Apple.

Thanks, I just submitted a bug report. As I said earlier it does appear to work fine with movie clips. Unfortunately, most of my project consists of still photos.
To test the issue further, I opened an older, completed project, stored on an external drive - again, the same problem - video clips fine, photo clips - a real mess. Now I'm debating whether to wait till Apple hopefully issues a fix, or whether to re-install the older Leopard. From past experience it may take up to a year to fix the problem (e.g., burning an image or dvd with iDvd coming to a stop in mid-burning and having to wait many hours or a day for it to finish). Oh well, I should wait a few days anyway.

Got exact same problem with SL and iMovie HD and still photos. Will follow up on posted suggestions, but as a possible quick fix, I found that putting the still through Ken Burns seems to avoid the problem. No idea why. Anyone else found this? It's not a longterm solution, but it might help if you just have one or two stills to add.
Anybody else found that Ken Burns "works"?

I'm also having problems with stills with a new iMovie HD 6 project after installing Snow Leopard. The photos play completely out of sync with the intended timeline, appearing late, too long, too short- all screwed up. Turning on Ken Burns effect did not help.

Does anyone know whether this is an issue Apple is likely tot fix, given that HD 6 is "legacy" software?

If enough people complain Apple is likely to fix the problem but it's not going to be a priority, which means you probably will have to wait for update number 4 or 5. Since the problem occurred for me in mid-project I'm going to re-install the earlier Leopard OS, after figuring out the best way for doing it. Haven't even tried the Ken Burns effect - it's not practical for me as I have hundreds of still photos. For me, so far the only advantage of SL is the 10 or so extra GB freed on my hard drive.
