Snow Leopard - will it kill iMovie HD?

I've got a question about Snow Leopard. Does anyone more tech savy than me know if installing Snow Leopard will brick iMovie HD ('06). I know it's old, but I've got a ton of themes and stuff for it and it just cranks out good video.

If you have a snow leopard build and also iMovie HD any help would be really appreciated.

yes i have the same problem with the stills and it seems that when Ken Burn Effect is on, for those stills, it works fine in the timeline but when you turn Ken Burns off its seems to lag a picture behind, in the timeline - its weird - in fact if you have your first 2 pictures with KB on and turn it off after that the problem will only occur on the pics that have KB off - no solution for it and Apple doesn't support HD anymore they said on the phone - not sure what to do - he suggested i get Final Cut Express - not likely- iMovie HD is great! keep me posted if anyone finds a solution other than keeping Kens Burns on. g

You must be the exception...

I have talked to over a dozen people that use 10.6 and iMovie 06 successfully.

I do believe that there is an issue with some users, hopefully these issues will be discovered and everyone with iMovie 06 can start using snow leopard.

Reading the posts here is not a good way gauge the compatibility of iMovie 06 and 10.6 because (mostly) only those with problems will post (similar to the way you will find a higher percentage of sick people at a hospital).

The best course of action for those with problems with iMovie 06 and 10.6 is to send feedback to Apple. Apple is well aware of the many people using iMovie 06. (Most I know also have iLife 09.)

Feedback for imovie (say you have iMovie 06)

Pass on your concerns to Apple, be nice, be polite, be HONEST.

Apple does listen to it's customers and respond.

I am also encountering problems with iMovie 06 since installing Snow Leopard (from Tiger). Some of the video effects no longer work (e.g. "peephole"). This is a pain, given that one of the drawbacks of iMovie 08 and 09 is their limited range of effects (and why should that be anyway?). Has anyone else had this problem/found a solution?

Re: "audio from previous edits coming through on transitions elsewhere in the project"...I have experienced this problem using iMovie HD on Tiger, with extraneous sound tracks sounding when I create dissolves. So it may not be Snow Leopard. Have never figured out the problem. My clunky workaround is to extract the audio from both scenes (keeping it as separate tracks) before doing a dissolve. Then the problem does not occur.
