download SWF photos to imac

I have a square disk from 2000 which has some wedding photos on it which are in SWF format. I want to download it onto one of two computers [ 1] an Imac 10.5.7 or [2] an imac 10.3.9 which also has "classic ". I have superdisk with usb connection. I can download onto both computers but they will not open. Can someone please help me with this problem.

imac, Mac OS X (10.5.7)

Since they are in SWF format (I assume that is shockwave/flash)
do you have any Flash plugins installed? If not, then get it from
Adobe.

Thank you. I have downloaded mac.ultina.com/free flash player. I put it in my applications folder. When I double click the photo icon which I have on the desktop It says choose 'application' but the "SWF and FL player" is not highlighted. Where do I go from here?

Not in front of a Mac at the moment but... I think
the "choose application" popup has a "recommended"
applications and a "choose all" option, have you tried
the choose all option? This should make more available
for selection.

Thank you Dave. The "all" button did make it available but it I don't think it will work. Unless I am not working it properly. What comes up looks like a video player with play ,reverse etc. buttons. It has a black square but dragging the photo to that does not open it. What should I do?

Let's go back a bit... Do you know how the disk was
created i.e. what software was used? It seems odd to
me (but then I'm like that) that you have photos in
swf format. I assume you have tried opening them
with Preview?

The Icon downloaded from the original square disk is marked .SWF. Most photos will bring up preview and open when you double click. This will not. I cannot trace the Business which created them. As it was from 10 years ago perhaps they do not now exist.

Dave I think I might now have the phone number of the original firm. National Photos.They are now in Sydney. I shall ring them tomorrow and see they can help and post again after that. Barbara

I think the .SWF is a slide show. That's the way many commercial photogs do it. As long as you have the individual photos I wouldn't worry about it.

The information I received from the producer of the disk, now called "Kodac Direct."
The only program known to them is a windows only www.irfanview.com They assured me it will do the job. I shall have to call on a friend with a windows machine.

You indicate that most photos will open with Preview. Are those
files .jpg or .swf? Are the only ones that won't open .swf files?
If so, then as sig mentioned, the .swf files are likely to be slideshows
and therefore not required.
If all the files are in one folder, select all files (command-A) then
open them all (command-O) and make a note of which ones will
not open. If they are all the .swf files then I suspect you can
safely ignore them.

As an afterthought, try opening the .swf files in a browser.

I am sorry I have expressed the response badly and you have misunderstood. When I said "most photos bring up preview and open" I was speaking generally of photo files. In fact all the photos on this floopy disk are .SWF files {eg. 65398-06.SWF}. We are all mac people here. When I get to a Windows machine I shall use the above software and post again. I guess they can be put on a CD and transferred to my machine

The disk downloaded onto a windows machine and converted successfully to JPEG with www.iranview.com free version. Thank you for your suggestions. That square disk really isn't very floopy is it . I gather they were originally.
