Windows 7 and Time Capsule

Hi guys,

I just got my Time Capsule and it was up and running in no time. I'm having the following problem:

I can see, read and write small files to the Time Capsule disk, but when I try to copy a large file (175MB) it just refuses. I get an error:

There is a problem accessing T:\
Make sure you are connected to the network and try again

I tried suggestions mentioned in other and this forum: change the LAN Manager authentication level and disable the 128-bit requirement, but still the same thing.

My Mac mini mounts, reads and writes fine via Windows 7. Please help me out.

P.S.
- I have the final (MSDNAA) version of Windows 7
- I have the most recent Time Capsule update (7.4.2)
- There is a Time Capsule password on it, which is the same as my Windows password
- The workgroup is on both systems 'WORKGROUP'

It seems that people are having problems with Snow Leopard too - so it is not just a Windows 7 problem:

Also I tried disabling N-mode, this seems to have solved the problem (it is however a completely unacceptable solution,I do not want to cripple my TC to make it usable). Just connecting in G mode alone does not help, N-mode support has to disabled on the TC to solve the problem.

Just to clear this up for everyone, there is NO FIX. I just got a new Dual-band 2TB to connect to my Dell laptop running Win7 Home Premium.

After reading extensively on the forums I finally called AppleCare twice and after a lengthy conversation with senior tech support, it was discovered that there is no fix. This being for both logging onto the TC as well as not being able to transfer files larger than XX mb. That being said, if you are not using your TC for storage of large files (no movies) you can access your TC by setting it to a "Guest" logon with no password. The guy at Apple said this is the only workaround they currently are aware of.

This is a Windows 7 issue that is caused by incompatibility with the Airport Utility and the OS. Apparently Apple is aware of the issue and is working on a fix for it. That being said there was no hinting to when the next firmwire update with this fix would be launched.

My solution? I just contacted customer support and returned my Time Capsule. I'll buy it again when this problem is fixed but for the time being I did not want a $600 paper weight with the warranty running down.

I found a solution on how to copy large files from Win 7 to TC.

I newly got my new TC 2gb. I had problems copying large files to this from my Windows 7 computer. I read a lot at different forums about it, but none of them provides a working solution.

I have an old habbit, i sometimes use a program called FC/W (FileCommander). An very old OS/2 program, can be found here: http://www.storch.dk/fc/
This program uses its own copy api, not Windows. So when i copy big files with this, it works fine.

This is a workaround until MS/Apple creates a fix for this.

I am also having the same problem. I have a brand new AEBS (firmware 7.5) with an attached Seagate FreeAgent USB 1TB drive. From my Windows 7 laptop, I can see the drive and copy over small files. But whenever I do anything that takes more than 1 second to complete (i.e. try to copy over even a 2MB photo), I get the message:

"There is a problem accessing Z: Make sure you are connected to the network and try again."

Everything seems to work fine from my wife's MacBook, and reading files from the Windows 7 system is OK. If I cannot reliably write to the drive from Windows 7, I have no mechanism for automatic backups of my PC. At this point, I can weighing whether I should revert to Vista (generally I am happy with Windows 7, but it's virtually identical to Vista to me) or return the AEBS to Apple.

Here's crossing my fingers for a quick firmware update from Apple!! I have submitted this same text to the Apple Feedback link mentioned above.
