How to get rid or hide grid lines or cut lines in business card template

You have both grid lines and cut lines.
The grid lines doesn't show when printing but you can hide them. Go to the menu and choose View > Hide rulers.
The cut lines you need if you want to cut straight. They are short lines not interfering with the cards themselves. They are possible to get rid off. Shift - Click on all cut lines. Go to Arrange > Unlock > then Delete. Remember to Save now.

All those marks are Locked, so they must be Unlocked before you attempt to delete them.

Use Command-A to select everything on the page. Then, Arrange > Unlock will unlock everything.

Now you are free to click on things and then hit the Delete key to make them disappear. If you make a mistake, COMMAND-Z to restore the last deleted item.

You might not be aware, and it may not matter, but there is a large white rectangle behind the text and in front of the black lines that is used to mask off the lines evenly. That's its only function as far as I can determine, so I think you could delete that too.

I am really curious as to why they want you to remove the trim marks. As fruhulda said they are needed to align the guillotine cuts.

Perhaps you have a double sided layout, in which case you will be experiencing a problem with digital printing. Digital printers' paper feed is so bad they have trouble lining up the 2 sides of double sided print. The reason they would be asking that you don't have crop marks (on at least one side) is because their cutting will be so far off that parts of the crop marks will be exposed on the trimmed cards.

If this is the case, be also aware that you will need to have a fairly "loose" design on the second side to keep any text or images away from the trimmed edges to prevent them being partially chopped off.

btw They can simply remove them with Acrobat Pro, if they know how, which it seems they don't.
