Battery Life (Cycles) of iPod Touch 32 Gb?

I have an older iPod 60 Gb (hard drive based) that I've had for probably at least 5 years now and it seems to still be holding a charge fine, and giving me practically as much play time on a battery charge as it did when it was new. I must admit though, that I really haven't used it as often as I'm finding myself using my new iPod Touch 32 Gb simply because the new unit can do so many more tricks and is a lot more usefull in everday use.
What kinda' concerns me is, just how long (or I guess I should say how many cycles) one can expect out of these units since after all, when the battery goes, I guess it's toast, since it's a sealed unit and I assume sorta' a disposable commodity, which some how bothers me!
