I have a Power Mac G5 and I would like to connect it to my Panasonic 42" 1080p Plasma HDTV. It has 2 HDMI in connection ports. My computer has a DVI and a ADC port. It has the basic graphics card, but plenty of RAM. I went to go purchase a HDMI to DVI cable and I was told it was Video only.
What is the best way to connect my tv to my computer?
Power Mac G5 Dual 2.5 GHz,
Mac OS X (10.5.8),
3.5 GB DDR SDRAM
Thanks for your advice. I ordered the cable and it seems to be working great. I can now use my TV as a computer screen. The problem is:
The audio is not working. I have a cable that connects to the Audio Line-out port on my computer and splits into 2 component connections. This is not giving me audio no matter where I try to plug it in. And I have tested the cable.
Is the problem that I am not using a digital audio port? There is only a digital audio Out on my TV. But I have an I and an out port on my computer.
I am trying to do the same thing you have done. I got a Belken DVI to HDMI cable, and it did not work with my LCD 37" TV. What adapter cable did you get? I have a G5 PPC Dual 2.7. I am not concerned at all with the audio side, just want to get the video to work.
Hi! I think it will work using a dvi to hdmi adapter but without sound. If you need sound use the audio ports. I have an old 1.5ghz mini hooked to a 52" lcd this way. Tom
