DMG files and Windows XP

I have an ipod touch and have installed the software. I notice I have some *.dmg files in a folder called C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Temporary Files\*.dmg.

Do I need to keep these or can they be deleted?
