What send-from address are you using that they are replying too?
Both of my kids get this message when they try to respond to a text I've sent them from my home computer. When they were on Verizon, no problems. I'd send them a text, they'd hit respond and I would get their message on the laptop. With their new Iphones, they can receive my text but get the above notice on their phones since the return message doesn't come through. Any thoughts?

Are they replying to a phone number? If they try to text to an email address or a non-mobile phone number then they could get this message.

As stated in the first post, I'm texting from my home laptop..They in turn are replying to an email address @comcast.net. Iphones are 1 month old but not sure if they are 3G or 3GS. Not sure if that has anything to do with this. Google brings up invalid PDU content as being too long (greater than 160 characters) a text message. Doubt it since the message I send is usually something like "on your way yet?". Don't see where that can be over 160 characters.
How are you "texting" from your computer, what software are you using and what address are you sending the "text" to; a phone number or an e-mail address?
Using XP and texting from Outlook express.Texting them at their phone #. xxx-xxx-0595@mobile.mycingular.com. They get the text but can't reply using the reply button.
Mine works in both directions using the format xxxxxxxxxx@txt.att.net on the ATT network.
Tried that first but it bounced. After a little digging came up with mobile.mycingular.com. Goes through. Kids receive but can't seem to get back through to me.
Strange; but if your sitting at a computer, just send it to their e-mail.
Do you have a signature in your email? Which mail format are you using, text, rich text or html.
Since you were doing it before you know it works! Something in the message is being picked up.
Try changing mail format if possible.

Not at the home box right now but using plain text to send email so I assume it applies to these type of messages also.
Plain text should be fine. Are you using a signature in your email? Are you using a tag with your name or a quote in your email?
Obviously, something has changed in the way your email is being translated and that is usually the mail format.
Is there anything in the subject line of the email?
Looking on the web for your error message most say that it means there is too much information in the message. That seems to me that your email is being read as having more than you have or you have a signature or something else in the email that is being picked up and sent with your email/text that is being recognized as much larger than it really is.
Start with checking the mail format. Have your kids send you a text and see if you can reply to it. Double check your mail format and the content of your email for a signature or image file.
Good luck

Also, what email are your kids using? What OS is you computer? Have you tried from a web client instead of outlook express? If you have a gmail account, did you try sending directly from gmail as a test?
No signature in emails. Don't have a gmail account and probably no desire to get one since already have 7-8 email accounts now. I'd prefer to be able just to text them to their phone as opposed to sending email. As stated before it used to work fine with Verizon phones, just having trouble since the switch to Iphones. Again they can receive my text from the home computer but when "reply" is chosen, they get invalid PDU content. Thanks for your suggestions so far.
BTW, sorry for the absence. Just returned home, had to take advantage of the weather. Haven't had much of a summer.
