How many iPods can sync with One iTunes account?

How many iPods can one sync with an iTunes account ? I have searched the net and there are many different posts but none conclusive. So was wondering if anyone here had a clear idea on that.

When I try to Sync my iPod, it show's "Syncing" on my iPod, but then a box pop's up on my computer that say's "You cannot Sync an iPod with more than one Library.-HELP PLEASE!!!

You can only sync an iPod with one computer. If you try to sync it to a different computer, it will erase everything on it from the original computer and add what is on the computer it is connected to.

I would like to take this question further .... my new nano requires itunes vs 8 or higher - there are already 2 ipods using the PC on vs 7 ... will an upgrade affect their functionality? Can I use 4 ipods on one version and can this be the most recent version?
