Once a while when I start parallels, the entire computer slows down to a crawl and is held hostage for 10-15 minutes until something "lets loose" and parallels starts up OK and frees up the rest of the computer. Any ideas? This is the original version of parallels, build 1940. Thanks!
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.
Sadly, this can be typical behavior for PCs with anti-virus software. You didn't mention how much RAM you have. You do have at least 2 GB don't you? If you only have 2 GB, you aren't running anything else with Parallels are you?
I have the same issue. Parallels 4 crawling. I have an MBA with 2gig of memory and 60gig hard drive with 9gig free. I read the replies is the emptry disk part of the problem?
The sync to mobile me does run when it Parallels is running. Should I be quiting all other apps when i use Parallels?
This is system is unusable. Does anybody know if VMware or the Sun VB are any better.
Thanks for responding. I have 3gb, and yes, I typically run several other programs at once. I don't run any anti-virus software within parallels. I am using Windows XP with parallels.
Any advice? It's making me hate Parallels and am not sure if I should pay for the upgrade if the upgrade still acts like this occasionally.
