Free Loops

Hi there,

Anyone aware of links to free loops, particularly rhythm guitar and bass or orchestral stuff?

For orchestral stuff, here is what I do.

Sign up for the free limited account at Classical Music Archives which will allow you 5 downloads a day. Choose an orchestration you like and import it into GB-2. Manipulate the heck out of it until you have a nice loop. Export as a loop for later use.

But if you want ALOT of premade loops, JamPack 4 would be a good investment.

JamPack 4 will save you alot of looping work, it is packed with them. It also includes extra icons for your orchestral tracks, which is nice. You don't want a guitar when your track asks for a Cello, or a flute when your track uses an Oboe.

I am not satisfied with the quality of the Software Instruments in JP4, but the audio and MIDI loops are very nice.

Easy, download your choice of MIDI files, then just drag the MIDI file onto the GB editing window. It works fine for me because I have JamPack 4, so either it will choke or all your tracks will be "Flute" and you will have to either guess what the instruments are suppose to be, or use Quicktime Pro 6 to ID them (Rondo would help here as well), or, if you are lucky, the author has already ID'd the track with the instrument name. You might want to start with just a piano piece like something from Beethoven or Chopin.

This piece was created with JamPack 4 using this method. You can hear the inferior instrument sampling, however, JamPack 4 helped improve the importing process by assigning the tracks properly as well as providing orchestral icons.
