ATT file shows up as attachment

When I send an e-mail with an attachment, there is an extra file that appears next to EACH attachment, which is named "ATT00001.htm." Other people in my office, using Microsoft Outlook on a PC, do not have this problem. It seems to be only on the Macs. Any ideas how to get rid of it? I tried the Mail Attachments Iconizer program, but that changes EVERYTHING to an attachment, even my firm's logo, which I still want embedded in the e-mail.

2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X (10.5.8)

That was suggested earlier and does work (at least for me) as long as nothing appears after the attachment. Unfortunately it still happens if as mentioned the attachment isn't the last thing in the e-mail, such as when you forward an e-mail. But it's certainly better!

This is simply unacceptable. It is embarrassing to have people you are sending attachments to writing back I have a virus because my e-mail client is attaching nonsense files they are afraid to open up.
