Can someone tell me how to get all the instruments from my Korg N1 ( 88 key synth 1400 instruments ) into logic 8. so I can just select an instrument from it on a midi track ? Any help Thanks in advance. P.S Midi works, the N1 works it would just be nice to select from logic rather than going thru changing instruments at the Korg, pain in the butt.

OK, you're talking a sysex dump of all the patches from your module/keyboard to logic, it's not any easy thing. There used to be a programme called Sounddiver that accompanied logic which would have done this for you automatically, but unfortunately apple dropped it. ( to concentrate on more important things like sodding apple loops )
So I guess you need to look into the world of Logic sysex dumps for your answer. Sorry.
Thanks. When did apple scrap this feature. I remember seeing part of My Korg's instruments in environment logic 7. Also the Korg has this midi dump. I'm assuming that's an internal dump not a transfer.
You can send program and bank messages out of logic to select patches, but as far as being able to see the patch names displayed I don't know a way other than a patch librarian program. Someone else might know though, so don't give up hope yet.
