Presonus Firestudio Project and problems w/ Logic Pro..anyone else???Help!

It is common that i have to restart presonus fire studio project (20inputs) many times, along with the computer too since im at it to resolve the prob...Sometimes the metronome wont be heard out of the blue or playback wont be heard even though i see levels in Logic. This has been a consistent problem since ive been up and running (2 years) and try to stay up on the updates...i dont get much feedback from Presonus either...anyone else using presonus having the same problems. Thanks.

Mac Pro 2.8 8core 4gb ram, Mac OS X (10.5.7), LogicPro/Presonus

you should install definetly their new driver if you didn't.
Try to run the driver of FSP in a different mode.
On my machine i have noticed that it strat always in Safe mode 3 (very stable- it add more latency than the normal mode, but at low buffer stteing in Logic, recording even vocals is still possible). Sometimes i switch it to normal mode to have even less latency - depending how heavy is the project - in normal mode the system is stable for few hours, then suddenly the sound disapear and become just a continuous digiatal distortion noise, just resetting the mode to safe 3 fix it. Experiment...
Before some updates i had your problem (in fact it's more than a year ago, but since the driver 3.1.1 i never had problem with this driver. Their new driver is 3.4.1 and even better stability.

Sorry trevor for that late reply to your question.
Putting the driver in Safe mode change the buffer that use the audio interface.
Ex. 64 buffer in Logic setting / Normal mode on FSP driver makes a roundtrip of latency of 7,4 ms in Logic 9. Same buffer in Logic/ Safe mode 3 makes a roundtrip of latency of 20 ms. Even 20 ms is not a problem for some vocals, but some can be picky and require a tighter time. Generally if you use moderately a nice reverb for the singer that will give a good mood for him and will don't notice anymore the tiny latency. Another time i have to change it to normal mode is when i use the e-drum/Superior 2.0, i have noticed in Safe mode 3 when you play the sound is kind of double it, but in Normal mode the drum sounds right, i need that just for the performance than switch back to safe mode 3.
Hope that can answer things you were wondering.
